 Mahendi, henna, heena,mehandi is an age old art of  middle eastern cultures. Mahendi paste is applied on palms and feet on occasion such weddings, religious festivals and other special occasions.

Mahendi leaves are dried and then crushed to make powder. The powder is then mixed into a paste. The paste is applied to palms or feets. This paste is then left on for 4 to 8 hours to get a darker stain on the skin. 

I do not use or recommend using black mahendi (kaali mahendi), kaali mahendi is actually a chemical mahendi and may cause irreversible damage to your skin. So stick to the natural henna and add the color to your life with Mahendi.
